The Jazz Foundations series contain the easiest of my big band charts. These can be played by beginning-level players and are scored for four horns with rhythm section, expandable to full big band. Each come with optional parts for flute, clarinet and horn in F.

This serves equally well as a concert opener or closer, and will teach and/or reinforce the basic rhythms that every jazz musician should know. While easy-to-hear solo changes will give students the opportunity to work on improvisational skills, sample solos for all instruments are provided.

This medium easy chart delivers a swinging melody, ensemble work at all dynamic levels, and an open solo section (written or ad lib). Written with reduced instrumentation (12-17 players), optional flute, clarinet, horn in F, tuba and vibes parts are included in each set.
